A NH native, Joe Foster’s emersion in Aotearoa and support for carving communities during the pandemic, he was mentored by several master carvers while living in the mountains and rainforests of New Zealand and most importantly, he fell deeply in love – a surreal experience that he will forever cherish and share through his korero story and ki te whakairo carving. Focused primarily on creating heirloom jewelry from pounamu jade, wood and whalebone, Foster’s dedication connects him to artists and explorers worldwide – always created by the lake and available exclusively in the lakes region.
